Preferences and Defaults

Preferences may be set by either:

  • Mailed by or

  • Mailed on Behalf Of (if applicable).

Many of the preferences are the same but may be set to different preferences. Setting Preferences and Defaults for Mailed by will not be saved for Mailed on Behalf Of - they must be set-up and saved separately.

Changes to preferences are reflected the next time a new shipment is created. Except for shipping units, changes made to preferences do not affect current values inside any open edit sessions.

Changes made to preferences and defaults are never implemented to previously created shipments except for changes to measurements units which will affect future edit / view sessions of previously created shipments.

Discontinuation of meter as a method of payment for parcels

As part of our ongoing commitment to bring products and services online, the following will be discontinued:

  • Meter impressions on manual parcel orders effective January 11, 2016
  • Meter as a method of payment in EST effective July 1, 2016

On January 11, 2016, Canada Post and your meter supplier introduced Supplier Account, a new way for meter customers to pay for parcel shipments when using Canada Post’s Electronic Shipping Tools (EST) or other approved shipping platforms.

Get more details about how to use Supplier Account.

Note: For mail and direct marketing services, you can continue to apply meter impressions and to use meter as a method of payment in EST and on your statement of mailing.
