Statement regarding mail destined for the Gaza Strip
On August 9, 2010 Canada Post advised customers that it is unable to accept outgoing mail to the Gaza Strip until further notice.

Canada Post reminds Canadians of postage rate increase for January
As part of a five year pricing strategy announced in 2009, Canada Post wishes to remind Canadians that the domestic basic letter rate will increase by 2 cents, from 57 cents to 59 cents, for standard letters weighing up to 30 grams effective January 17, 2011.

Canada Post Commemorates the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International in Canada

Huntsville Post Office marks G8 Summit with special cancellation
To commemorate the G8 Leaders Summit taking place near Huntsville in June, Canada Post has issued a special cancellation for the Huntsville Post Office. This cancellation will be applied to all mail handled at the counter of the Huntsville Post Office for the month of June.

Funding for mental health causes now available from the Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health
Registered charities have until May 31 to apply for a portion of the $1.5 million in funding now available from the Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health. Grant applications will be reviewed by the Foundation and funds disbursed in September 2010.

Canada Post and Swedish Post issue joint pair of stamps showcasing marine life
Canada Post and the Swedish Post are today jointly issuing a pair of stamps that showcase two creatures that live and play in our coastal waters: the sea otter and harbour porpoise. This is the first joint issue between the two countries.

Canada Post Commemorates the Canadian Navy’s 100th AnniversaryTo commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Navy, Canada Post is issuing today a set of two stamps depicting the past and present of Canada’s naval service. Canada’s first naval warship, HMCS Niobe, features the picture of an unknown sailor taken around 1910. The second stamp focuses on present day navy with a picture of HMCS Halifax and of Cheryl Bush, Chief Petty Officer Second Class, currently employed with the Chief of the Maritime Staff in Ottawa. This newest offering follows naval-themed stamps issued in 1985 and 1998.

Canada Post reports profit in 2009 but looks to a challenging year ahead
Canada Post Corporation tabled its 2009 annual report today in Parliament, reporting a profit for the 15th consecutive year. The Corporation recorded consolidated net income of $281 million on revenue of $7.3 billion, and reported an operating margin of 4.9 per cent.

Historic portraits of First Nations Ambassadors' visit with Queen Anne commemorated on new stampsCanada Post today issued a four-stamp set Four Indian Kings to commemorate historic portraits of four Aboriginal representatives who travelled to Europe with colonial leaders to meet Queen Anne in 1710. The portraits are among the earliest surviving full-length oil portraits of North American First Nations people painted from life and considered a record of early cultural and political diplomacy between the First Nations and the British Empire.

Canada Post and Israel Post Commemorate 60 Years of FriendshipCanada Post and Israel Post are today issuing a joint international rate commemorative stamp. This marks more than 60 years of friendship and strong diplomatic relations between the two countries. It is the first joint stamp issue between Canada and Israel. Canada’s diplomatic relationships with Mexico, China and Japan have previously been recognized on stamps and commemorative envelopes.

Canadian-developed hybrids bloom exquisitely on two new stamps
OTTAWA – Spring is already in full bloom at Canada Post, with today's issuing of a pair of PERMANENT™ stamps featuring two vibrant Canadian African violet (Saintpaulia) hybrids, "Picasso" and "Decelles' Avalanche." The Saintpaulia genus has more than 1,000 hybrids developed and registered by Canadians.
