Q. How will postal transformation help my
business?
A. Postal Transformation involves new ways of doing business
and new technologies that will help us make changes in how we serve
you, our customers.
- More choice - Reach your customers and partners across multiple channels-both physical and electronic - and enjoy more flexible delivery options whether you're communicating, shipping or advertising.
- More integrated information - Get more detailed and timelier information for what's being delivered and when-and all better integrated with your own systems.
- Enhanced way to build relationships - Communicate with your customers based on their preferences, from what information they want to receive from you to how they get it - all with the privacy and security Canadians demand.
Q. How will Canada Post make sure it's
meeting my needs?
A. We may be experts in the delivery and communications
field, but you're the expert in running your business. That's why
we've created
customer
panels to help us think through any proposed changes from a
customer's perspective.
In addition to the customer panels, regular meetings with customers and business partners are being held. We've also invited a cross section of executives from various industries to participate on our Board of Advisors. These "business partners" share their experience with us to ensure the customer perspective is being considered.
Q. How are customers selected for customer
panels and why?
A. We've selected various groups to ensure a good
representation of our customers. These panels provide a range of
customer perspectives to help assess and confirm new and proposed
changes.
Q. Is there anything I need to do to
prepare?
A. Our goal is to keep you informed of improvements and any
proposed changes, every step of the way. Visit our
Latest
News page frequently for the latest updates on Postal
Transformation.
Q. What is "sequencing"?
A.Sequencing is the process of placing mail items in a specific order, using the address, Postal Code and letter carrier route information, so that mail is ready for delivery when it arrives at the delivery office. Automated sequencing leverages sorting equipment that sorts the mail for our delivery agents. Mail sequencing has been in existence in Europe and the U.S. for many years. We have studied their work methods and processes and are incorporating their best practices into our designs.
